Human behavior, an experience, a relationship

We are not (as we imagined for so long!) a mere biological entity "obedient" to a brain and a central nervous system in response to so-called "environmental stimuli".

Much less the sum of a set of organs that are simply juxtaposed. We are (yes!) a “lived” and expressive body that “inhabits” the environment and continuously manifests its “bodily intentionality”.

This is more than enough reason to assume that the “lived” body, perception and motricity must be understood as a whole; where the sensory system and the motor system, everything that is visual, vestibular, proprioceptive and kinesthetic work globally; a globality in constant interaction and complementarity, which allows us to behave in a way that is no more than a way of tuning in to everything around us. An expressive, bodily behavior, regulated unconsciously and on which an actual corporeality is structured, on which the fundamental decisions of our daily lives are based; also dependent on previous sedimented experiences, far beyond simple mental, technical, morphological or physiological dexterity.

In conclusion, we have a lived body with an anonymous and unconscious dimension, subject to continuous intersubjective and intercorporeal experiences and constant sharing of experiences and affectivities; and through a dynamic and complex corporeality capable of incorporating all kinds of experiences in the meantime, we create what are known as habits. Habituation is nothing more than a form of familiarization, an anonymous knowledge, commonly referred to as “acquired habits” through the incorporation and attachment of everything around us.

It is very important, I would even say decisive, to assume that our lived and experiential body is not merely a biological entity that “obeys” a brain and a central nervous system in response to so-called “environmental stimuli”. Much less the sum of a set of organs that are simply juxtaposed. Rather, we are a living, expressive body that “inhabits” the environment and continuously manifests its purpose in life.
